What are Dental Crowns Made Of ?

What are Dental Crowns Made Of?

  • Porcelain-Veneered Zirconia. Short name is Zirconia Crown
  • IPS e.max (Lithium Disilicate). Short name is Emax Crown
  • Ceramic (porcelain crowns)
  • Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal. Short name is PFM
  • Gold Alloy. Short name is Gold Crown

What crown is better Zirconia or Porcelain?

Because of their exceptional durability and strength, zirconia restorations generally last longer than porcelain. While porcelain crowns usually need replacement after a few years, zirconia crowns have shown a 99 percent survival rate after five years. Both porcelain and zirconia are custom-made to look very natural.

 What is PFM crown?

Porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) crowns have been considered the gold standard for the repair of damaged teeth. PFM crowns have good mechanical properties, satisfactory esthetic results, and an acceptable biological quality needed for periodontal health. However, PFM crowns have some limitations that may limit their use

What Are the Differences Between Emax crown and Zirconia crown?

The biggest difference between Emax and zirconia is that Emax crowns are more translucent and zirconia crowns are stronger. Emax is known for having a naturally translucent appearance that allows light through just like natural teeth.

A significantly damaged tooth can be saved from extraction by installing a dental crown. If so, dental crowns can be  a good solution.  It not only restores the functionality of the tooth but also looks just like your own tooth. In the dental clinic “Affordble Dentistry of Coral Springs” in South Florida,we have our local dental lab in Fort Laoderdale. We are not sending any dental work out of US.

The most popular dental crown is metal-free crowns. They made from modern ceramics E.max. Call us for more information.  We will make your smile perfect!

We have set high requirements for the quality of dental crowns.
When a tooth is more than half destroyed, placing a filling or inlay will not provide the tooth with a full restoration of function. In this case, a dental crown is a perfect solution. We will perfectly match a crown with  shade of your enamel.

No metal crown is more esthetic, since theris no metal frame inside in the crown it allows light to penetrate the installed structure, and it shines like a natural tooth. The crown adjusts to the micron to the peculiarities of your bite, and you do not feel it at all.

We achieve the unsurpassed precision of the shape of all-ceramic crowns , eusing computer-aided CAD / CAM technology. In a special program, the technician designs a digital model of the structure, and then the crown is milled on the CEREC machine in our local dental lab.

Installation options for a metal-free crown
On the abutment tooth
If at least a third of the visible part of the tooth has been preserved, then it will be carefully turned into fractions of a millimeter and covered with a strong crown on top.

On the stump tab
If only the root is left and it is strong enough, then a zirconium dioxide pin will be fixed in it, which will become the basis for the crown
